NYP-Cisco Connected Solutions Centre (CSC)

Background 

The NYP-Cisco Connected Solutions Centre (CSC) is a joint collaboration between NYP and Cisco Systems. The CSC was set up with the aim of establishing a development hub to accelerate the transformation towards new breeds of connected solutions and cloud services powered by next-generation infocomm infrastructures such as the Next Generation Nationwide Broadband Network (NGNBN). In line with NYP's mission to support the industry, the CSC designs and develops new connected solutions and services to meet the business needs of organisations as well as provides specialist training programme for the infocomm industry.

Areas of Specialisation 

The team at the NYP-Cisco CSC possesses extensive solutioning experience in various infocomm application domains such as intelligent enterprise, interactive video, service provisioning as well as unified communications (UC) and its integration. Equipped with a unified compute, network and storage reference infrastructure, CSC also provides an end-to-end platform for the design, development, integration, deployment, testing and interoperability verification of broadband connected infocomm solutions and services.

Project Information

Major projects commissioned by the CSC include:

• Integrated Security Management - an intelligent system that orchestrates IP-based video surveillance cameras, intercoms, DVRs, access control systems and alarm handling units to allow integrated and efficient security management at multiple sites as well as over the NGNBN.

• Unified Communications (UC) Integrated Tele-Radiology System - to achieve full integration of a digital radiology system with real time communications and collaborations features for a healthcare professional team working in different physical locations.

• Intelligent Building Management and Control System - to achieve building management and control through integration of embedded IP-enabled device controllers with IP phones and wireless PDAs.
  Infocomm Touch Panel - a voice-over-IP (VoIP) capable intelligent infocomm terminal that converges public phone call, SMS, video mail, e-Postcard and personal tag in a single touch screen panel.
