Make It. Own It. Game It.
Singapore Games Creation Competition (SGCC) gives secondary school students an opportunity to learn about digital media development and games creation. It challenges them to create their very own games.
The objective of SGCC is to:
- Provide an environment for school students to learn games creation through Workshops on games development and digital creation tools.
- Give the participants an overview of the digital media industry.
- Give aspiring game developers an opportunity to share and showcase their games.
The Challenge
The competition will be conducted over 2 stages:
Stage 1 (Web Games)
- Stage 1 will be held from 9th - 13th June 2008.
- Students will have to undergo a 1 day games creation lecture on 9th June 2008 and 2 days workshop in NYP. The workshop will be conducted by experienced lecturers in the Game Industry.
- For Stage 1, there will be two workshops held on 10th & 11th June and 12th & 13th June.
- Participants can choose to participate in either of the workshops.
- The workshops will run from 9am to 5pm at Nanyang Polytechnic.
- After the 2 days workshop, students are challenged to create their very own games and submit their work by deadline, 8th August 2008.
- Consultation will be provided by Nanyang Polytechnic lecturers.
Stage 2 (3D Games)
- Stage 2 will be held on the 1st - 5th Septmber 2008. Only top 20 teams from Stage 1 will be invited to take part in this stage. Students will undergo a 5-day games creation workshop on 3D games. After the workshop, each team is required to develop a 3D-game. The submission date for Stage 2 will be advised.

Singapore Games Creation Competition is part of the National Infocomm Competition (NIC) under the Secondary School circuit. It is open to all secondary school students.

About the National Infocomm Competition
The National Infocomm Competition is a multi-themed inter-school challenge created to uncover top infocomm talent in Singapore. Divided into three circuits - secondary schools, junior colleges and ITE/polytechnics – the competition will encompass challenges focused on areas such as business IT, digital media, mobile technology, security & networking and more.
