The Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography trains students to be effective diagnostic radiographers capable of the expert use of radiation systems for identifying diseases and/or injuries of patients.
The courses aim to provide graduates with:
a foundation in radiation medicine, biological and behavioral sciences for understanding human biology, behavior and diseases
the ability to integrate knowledge with clinical skills and judgment to implement diagnostic procedures or radiation treatment depending on their specialization;
the knowledge and skills to use computers and research methods in their work.

3 academic years on a fulltime basis
The demand for radiographers and radiation therapists provides graduates with attractive employment opportunities in hospitals, polyclinics and private radiology clinics. Graduates can also seek employment in multinational companies in their medical product divisions. Graduates can register as full members with the Singapore Society of Radiographers, itself a member of the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists, a worldwide body comprising 60,000 members.
Opportunities for further studies are plentiful. Graduates can undertake degree level courses in overseas tertiary institutions such as Monash University and University of Newcastle in Australia. They may also pursue specialized studies in radiation medicine through the Advanced Diploma in Sonography programme offered by the School of Health Sciences at Nanyang Polytechnic.
