This is one of the focus tracks that was initiated from the most established formal Digital Media program in Singapore, with over 10 years’ track record of international and local success, assisted by privileged feedback from top professionals in the industry.

As the leading wave of a new generation of Interaction Designers, you will be among the forerunners that will answer the
call to that question.


The interactive digital media landscape is evolving fast. We now need more open and dynamic creative designers who are inquisitive, multi-talented and highly trained. In this brave, new world of digital interaction, we want you to shatter the confines of the personal computer and take Interaction Design to a whole new level!


This course will immerse you in a rich, playful and experimental environment of cutting-edge concepts and hi-tech toys – ubiquitous computing, multi-touch, augmented reality, new Internet technologies – these are but a few of the exciting new fields in Interaction Design that are redefining how we perceive the connected world.


This does not mean we are leaving our stellar reputation in traditional screen-based interactive media in the dust – we continue to offer the most up-to-date and progressive modules in web and screenbased media design. Our graduates are highly sought after and continuously impress the interactive media industry.


Our aim is to graduate exceptional professionals in the interaction design and media fields, backed by a solid foundation in:

  • Understanding the core concepts of interactive digital media

  • Designing rich, interactive multimedia for 2D and 3D environments, both on-screen and in physical space

  • 1st-generation interactive media design production

Training Emphasis:

We focus on training well-rounded students who are both equally adept in technical and craft-based skills, as well as concept and theory-driven subjects in Interaction Design.


  • The core fundamentals of Interaction Design – understanding and experiencing digital media, foundation design are incorporated in modules across all three years.

  • On top of this foundation, the first year concentrates on opening up the student’s eye for good design and exposure to digital media.

  • The second year focuses on advanced topics in media authoring, development and realisation.

  • The third year concentrates on developing highly integrated projects that require the whole gamut of skills learnt throughout the course of their study, and provides real-world experience through industrial attachments.

Course Aims:

The course aims to develop students in:

  • Core fundamentals of design

  • Foundation skills in interactive media production

  • Concepts of interactivity and how to design for it

  • Novel ways in playing with both hardware and software

  • Techniques on interactive media installations

Career Opportunities in Interaction Design

The outlook for careers in digital media is bright. There is a continuous demand for passionate, creative graduates, especially in the field of interaction design and media. Graduates can contribute as dynamic members of a creative design team, playing the roles of creative leaders, designers, and developers. As pioneers of a new generation of interaction designers, students are also highly encouraged to break new ground in the industry by advancing new developments in interactive digital media to the field.
