SIT students topped the E-Town Ideas Competition organized by IDA and Ministry of Finance in May 2007. The competition saw many IHLs competing to generate innovative and feasible e-Services for eTowns. Our students clinched three awards out of the four entries submitted by NYP. The winning teams are:

Champion:

iKeeper
(Su Su Naing, DBI & Tay Oon Cheng, DBI)

2nd Runners Up:

Video Hunter
(Alvin Khong, DIT & Wong FuQiang, DIT)

Merit Award:

Lots of Lots
(Choo Jian Yuan, DIT & Tam King Han, DIT)

The champion team proposed the use of RFID technology to facilitate the management of items in libraries. The proposed system incorporated a Conveyor Belt used to sort returned items without manual intervention. It also uses the Smart Shelf to identify misplaced items.
