Forum Nokia Qt Challenge 2010

The Forum Nokia Qt Challenge aims to provide an avenue for students to showcase ideas and working models of their mobile applications. The objective of the Challenge is to harness creativity and build the students' passion for innovation through Qt technology. The competition was open to all IT students from Universities, Polytechnics & ITE colleges and was held from 1 Dec 2009 to 15 Feb 2010.
A team from the School of Information Technology (SIT) comprising of Benjamin Wu(DIT), Connie Sie (DIT) and Lee Wei Yuen(DEI) emerged as first runner-up in this competition with their entry - “EcoGo”, which is a mobile application that helps to raise awareness in caring for the environment through reuse.

Forum Nokia Code Camp Competition 2008
Forum Nokia organized a series of Code Camp competitions on the mobile web runtime platform around the globe to attract developers to start creating widgets for the mobile phone. There were two stages of competition in which the regional champions from America, EMEA, APAC and China competed in the global arena and the overall champion walks away with cash award of 15,000 Euros.
SIT Students – Michelle Lim and Ann Sam, both from the Diploma in Information Technology participated in the regional Web Runtime category of the competition and emerged as winners, clinching both the 1st and 2nd runners up position respectively! It was a remarkable achievement as this competition also includes professional developers and designers from companies overseas.
