National Infocomm Scholarships Award 2009

Three SIT graduates were awarded the National Infocomm Scholarships (NIS) on 4 Aug 2009 at a ceremony graced by RADM(NS) Lui Tuck Yew, Acting Minister for Information, Communication and the Arts. The NIS is part of a scheme to groom those with talent and passion in IT.
Ms Song LiQin, DBI Class of 2006, was enrolled at NTU since AY2006. She is currently pursuing a double Degree in Business and Computing at NTU and has won the NIS 2009 sponsored by Ecquaria, a leading provider of e-Government consultancy and infrastructure solutions.
Ms Tan Xue Shan, DBI Class of 2007, was enrolled at SMU since AY2007. She is currently pursuing the SMU-CMU Fast-Track programme, a BSc (Information Systems Management) from SMU and followed by a Master degree in IT from Carnegie Mellon University. She has won the NIS 2009 sponsored by NCS Pte. Ltd., a leading regional Information Technology (IT) and Communications Engineering services provider.
Mr Lim Yew Siong, DEI Class of 2007, was enrolled in AY2009 at NTU and will be pursuing the NTU-Georgia Tech Integrated Master Programme in Computer Science. He will be studying for his BEng in Computer Science offered by NTU followed by the Master in Computer Science offered by Georgia Tech USA. He won the NIS 2009 sponsored by Microsoft, a global information technology corporation that develops, manufactures, licenses, and supports a wide range of software products for computing devices.
