"I embarked on the NYAA journey while I was pursuing my ITE education and set myself a target to achieve the NYAA-Gold.

To win this award, I pushed myself physically and mentally by taking up demanding and challenging tasks.  I took up running and through my determination and discipline, I am now competing on the track at the national level. I stepped out of my comfort zone and completed a Outward Bound 21 Days Classic Camp and along the way I also picked up other skills such as first aid, time management as well as organised many youth projects.

This programme has benefited me tremendously. Besides the physical training that I received, I also became very independent, gained a lot of self confidence and developed my leadership skills. At the same time, I was able to contribute to the society by being a positive influence on the youths around me by engaging them in sports activities to promote a healthy lifestyle.

Many of the things I have learnt went beyond the walls of the classroom and I am really glad that I had so many valuable opportunities that came along my way. Thus I look forward to reaching out to NYP students to share my experience and to help them maximise their potential."
