Splash Awards 2010 - Web 5.0 in 2015 @School and @Play
NYP SIT has done well in the Splash Award 2010 competition – themed “Web 5.0 in 2015 @School and @Play “, a national IT competition jointly organized by the Singapore Computer Society’s Student Chapter & the Web 2.0 SIG under the umbrella of National Infocomm Competition (NIC). This year’s competition drew 90 entries from 230 students across secondary schools, junior colleges, polytechnics, ITEs and universities and a total of six teams from the School of Information Technology were selected into the Finals.
A team comprising of Gan Hong Quan, Tan Kok Wai Anthony and Koh Chong Joo Ezra from the Diploma in Business Informatics clinched the 1st Runner-Up position under the NIC Polytechnic/ITE circuit. The team conceived and developed an innovative social networking and lifestyle application that allows the mobile users to easily make new friends, locating friends and recommending places of interest.

Splash Awards 2006 - 3G Live!

NYP has done well in the Splash Awards 2006 competition organized by the Singapore Computer Society, in collaboration with the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and ITE College Central to promote the development of mobile applications making use of 3G technology. A total of five teams represented by students from the School of IT competed and were selected into the Finals in which one team clinched the 1st Runner-Up position under the Consumer category.
Luong Thanh Khanh and Lim Chuwei developed the winning project that allows mobile phone users to capture pictures, videos and blog their entries to the Internet that can be shared with a community of users. This innovative idea was conceived and developed over 6 months and had captured the hearts of the judges which eventually earned them the prize.
