X-Site 2011

X-Site 2011 Champions

Two SIT student teams have excelled in the X-Site Competition 2011. Our SIT teams "DigitalFTW" and "Nova" with DIS and DBT students emerged as the Champion and 1st Runner-Up respectively in the finals held on Saturday (30 Ju ly). This is a hattrick for SIT students, having won the competition since 2009.

Team DigitalFTW comprises of Kiat Han, Kai Wei, Marilyn Chua and Rachel Low and Team Nova comprises of Jing Loon and Muhamad Hilmi. They walked away with attractive prizes like Microsoft Xbox/Kinect and Apple iPod.

The theme this year revolved around the reach and influence of technology into our daily life. In the preliminary round the challenge was to design a poster which would sufficiently represent the role of technology in influencing lifestyle choices and social habits. The finals (with 6 teams from polytechnics/ITE colleges) was similar to the TV show "Amazing Race" - the teams had to go through the race and hunt for checkpoints within the Science Centre. The checkpoints came with exciting missions and penalties to be cleared within time limits - jigsaw puzzles, quizzes on IT/Science, graphic design etc.
