NYP’s Diploma in Engineering Informatics is a multi-disciplinary course that offers students the chance to gain extensive expertise and relevant industry domain knowledge in nextgeneration network and IT system technologies. Students will acquire specialist networking and software skills needed to implement state-of-the-art IT infrastructures and valueadded solutions that increase business competitiveness. With a Diploma in Engineering Informatics, graduates will be ready to implement data centres and next-generation high speed networks powered by Green Computing technologies, and develop cutting-edge mobile and web applications using technologies such as Android, HTML5 and Flash.

 

Students will acquire a strong foundation and core capability in IT, broadband networking, wireless computing and engineering domain knowledge. Students can pursue their interest from among the following areas:

  • Engineering Software and Enterprise Applications

  • IT Services and Network Management

  • Integrated Logistics and Supply Chain Management

  • Green Computing and Data Centre Management

The value-added IT++ learning experience for students is enhanced through:

  • a full-time industry project to sharpen their technical knowledge, business acumen and project management skills;

Course Aims

Dip in Engineering Informatics

 

 

The course aims to develop students and equip them with:

  • a good understanding of the critical system building blocks supporting IT applications in engineering and business functions;

  • core capability in next-generation network and IT technologies such as enterprise network design and management, IT services and management, system integration and system management;

  • proficiency in planning, designing, developing, deployment and enhancement of innovative IT solutions to fulfil business needs; and

  • essential life skills in creative and critical thinking, team building, self-directed learning, effective communication and enterprising spirit.

Duration: Three academic years on a full-time basis.
