"The three years in NYP was a very eventful one.

Through the various projects that I had to complete, I have learnt to manage and coordinate projects and as a leader, guide and monitor the progress of my project team-mates. These skills are critical to my current job in project management.

"Since young, I have a love and passion for computers. This drove me to join NYP to pursue my diploma in Information Technology (IT). The course gave me a good grounding in IT and exposed me to latest IT trends

 The three years in poly was not without challenges. However, with the immense help from my lecturers and tutors, I managed to graduate with a good GPA and gained direct entry to the third year of  Software Engineering with Management degree programme at the University of Edinburgh.

Without the support and guidance of my NYP lecturers and tutors, this would not have been possible. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my software engineering lecturer. He was the one who inspired me to take up software engineering as my future career. Till today, I am in touch with all my lecturers who continued to help me during my University years. “SIT provided me with a holistic education that prepared me well for the world of IT, business and entrepreneurship. As an NYP student, I participated in the Creative Awards organised by the Polytechnic. My team mates and I clinched the top prize, and with this prize money, we started our first business venture - Zhan. I’m thankful that my lecturers were extremely helpful and supportive of our business venture.

Today, I am leading several different businesses. I strongly believe that my success today was only possible because of the strong foundation that NYP has given me.”

"The School of IT provided me with a strong foundation upon which I could cultivate my research skills. At NYP, I had continuous hands-on experience on software development. The programming concepts taught helped me to pick up new programming languages with ease. Software design concepts that I learnt, enabled me to craft reusable and easy to understand codes. Most importantly, the project management skills that I acquired have benefited me much in my research work.
