InfoSecurity Innovation Centre

NYP has signed an MOU with Centre for Strategic Infocomm Technologies (CSIT), Microsoft Singapore and Singapore Computer Systems Limited (SCS) on 30 Sept 2008 to launch the InfoSecurity Innovation Centre. The centre aims to develop the know-how and capability of NYP staff and students in information security, to promote the use of innovative information security technologies and processes and to build up a critical pool of InfoSecurity professionals in Singapore.

Through a combination of cutting edge R&D InfoSecurity industry projects undertaken at the Centre and attachments with major IT industry players, students from NYP’s School of Information Technology will be trained to become information security specialists, equipped with skills to design, develop and manage InfoSecurity solutions, products and services. The Centre also aims to create innovative InfoSecurity products and solutions for the industry, and becomes a key driver in the development of trained information security manpower. The Centre’s objectives are in line with NYP’s Diploma in Information Security, which takes a holistic approach in InfoSecurity training, focusing on security throughout entire information life cycle – from the point of origination to processing, transmission, storage and disposal. To help NYP groom Information Security IT specialists, CSIT is offering full scholarships to qualified students who enrol in this course.
