NYP and Oracle Corporation Singapore Pte Ltd collaborated to setup this centre to offer cost-effective, grid-computing enabled business solutions to industry.
Under the MOU, both NYP and Oracle officially launched the NYP-Oracle Grid Innovation Centre (NOGIC) to serve as the project development centre for new grid computing enabled business applications.
NOGIC is managed by NYP who will work closely with interested enterprises to leverage grid technology for a range of business benefits. NOGIC also offers students at the polytechnic the opportunity to gain valuable working experience with enterprise grid technology. The Centre will provide students with relevant learning experiences, building their capabilities and preparing them for future employment.
NOGIC is an extension of the Enterprise-g @ Singapore initiative launched in July 2004. Enterprise-g @ Singapore is a joint commitment by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and Oracle to drive the adoption and innovation of enterprise grid computing in Singapore.
