1) Does NYP SSL VPN requires the installation of any client software?
No, the SSL VPN does not require the installation of any client software. When the user access to the SSL VPN webpage, an ActiveX or Java components would be pushed down to the end-user's PC/laptop. The pushing down of this ActiveX or Java components would need the end-user's to have administrative rights.
2) If I have a router or firewall at home, would I be able to access to NYP SSL VPN?
The minimum firewall port for NYP SSL VPN to work is SSL port (TCP port 443). Therefore, to ensure that you can access NYP SSL VPN from home, you would need to open up this port in your home router/firewall.
3) Do I need to install any anti-virus software in order to access to NYP SSL VPN?
Yes, you would need to install an anti-virus software, updated with the latest pattern file in order to access to NYP SSL VPN, if not, you would be denied access.
