MCG Sayembara Theatre Competition 2017

24 members of NYP's Malay Cultural Group Drama sub-group took part in Sayembara Theatre Competition organized by Tampines West Community Centre. After one month of preparations, they took part in the preliminary round on Sunday 15 October 2017 where there were a total of 10 teams; 3 from open category, 5 from Poly/JC/Secondary School, and 2 from Primary School. NYP got through to the finals which took place on Friday 3 November 2017 and won the 3rd place.
The drama piece is about a group of children from an orphanage trying to find ways to escape. “Dunia Tanpa Donut” means ‘A world without Donuts’. One of the child’s motivation to escape was to search for donuts, which are full of sweetness, something she has never tasted or experienced before in her life.
