- Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents with valid GCE ‘O’ Level Examination results #
- Foreign students studying in a government school, government-aided school or Independent School in Singapore with valid 2008 Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level Examination results .

For the following applicants with outstanding talents / achievements and strong passion/ aptitudes in certain fields of study:

|
- Higher NITEC/CBS/ITC Holders #
- NITEC/NTC2 Holders with GPA 3.5 and above #(must have sat for GCE ‘O’/’N’ Levels)
- Malaysian SPM/STPM Holders #
|
|
- The following GCE ‘O’ level holders:
- candidates who could not apply through the JAE or who do not meet the entry requirements for polytechnic courses
- non-Singaporean private candidates or from private schools

non-Singaporeans previously from government, government-aided and independent schools
- The following NITEC holders (except NITEC in Nursing):
- candidates with GPA less than 3.5
- candidates without GCE 'O'/'N' levels
- The following NITEC in Nursing holders:
- GPA between 3 and 3.50 (including CCA bonus points)
- have at least one year of working experience as an Enrolled Nurse, and
- have been recommended by employer
- GCE 'A' level holders
- Former or current polytechnic/university students
- The following Integrated Programme (IP) Student :
- candidates with IP Year 4 results
- candidates with Pre-International Baccalaureate 2 but have not sat for the A-Level or IB
- candidates with International Baccalaureate (IB) results
- candidates with A-Level results

- Malaysian SPM holders applying for Diploma in Digital & Precision Engineering
- Singaporeans or Permanent Residents with foreign qualifications
- Non-Singaporeans with foreign qualifications
