Minimum Entry Requirements
for GCE 'O' level holders

Dental Hygiene & Therapy *
Nursing

To be eligible for consideration, candidates must have the following GCE ‘O’ Level examinations results (at not more than two sittings)  and fulfil the aggregate computation requirements.

Science (Physics/Chemistry)

The aggregate computation for selection is based on grades obtained from 5 subjects as follows :

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Science or Design & Technology or Computer Studies or Creative 3D Animation or Fundamentals of Electronics and
  • two other subjects

Additional Requirements

Due to the special requirements of the Healthcare professions, all applicants have to pass a medical examination and be free from physical handicap to be admitted into the programme.

Whilst not comprehensive, the following conditions will lead to non-acceptance into the course:

HBsAg positive/ Hepatitis B Carrier
Legal blindness
Active tuberculosis
Profound deafness
Psychiatric condition
Uncontrolled asthma

Uncontrolled epilepsy
Uncontrolled diabetes
Uncontrolled hypertension
Acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS)
Mobility restricted (hindering performance)
Physical dependence upon mobility equipment

* Dental Hygiene & Therapy candidates will be required to take a manual dexterity test by the relevant Selection Committee to determine their suitability for admission to the course.

Social Sciences (Social Work) (new course)

To be eligible for consideration, candidates must have the following GCE ‘O’ Level examinations results (at not more than two sittings)  and fulfil the aggregate computation requirements.

The aggregate computation for selection is based on grades obtained for English, Mathematics, a Humanities subject and two other subjects.
