An Early Hari Raya for Pertapis Children's Home

The children received pretty hand-made motivational cards from our students.

Giving back to the community is important. For students, especially, helping others can help boost their self-confidence, promote leadership, accountability and teamwork. So, on May 12, more than 30 students from SBM's Diploma in Marketing took on the role of big brothers and sisters to the children at the Pertapis Children's Home. The Home provides care for more than 80 children aged 4 to 16 years. Our students organised a sports carnival for the children and collaborated with staff from SingTel and volunteers from One Youth SG to decorate the Home in time for the Hari Raya festivities. Through this activity, our students learnt about SingTel's Corporate Social Responsibility efforts and what drives volunteers to be of service to others. It was a fulfilling afternoon for our students as they had the chance to engage and connect with the children.
