Guard Your Cyberspace

Guest of Honour, Senior Minister of State for Communications & Information, Dr Janil Puthucheary, sharing a light-hearted moment with our SEG students.

What makes a strong password?
How do you spot a phishing email?
How do you use an anti-virus software?
When should I update my software?

These were the focus of the recently-launched National Cybersecurity Awareness Campaign by the Cyber Security Agency. As Singapore moves towards becoming a Smart Nation, technology will become increasingly pervasive in our lives, transforming the way we work, live and play. The campaign thus seeks to encourage the adoption of good cyber habits.

SEG students from various diplomas also played their part in ensuring cybersecurity through their fun and interactive game - Cyber Savvy. Inspired by reports of teenagers' lack of cyber awareness, despite their heavy Internet usage, our students created a game to educate the public about good cyber wellness hygiene. It was a hit as members of the public were seen enjoying themselves playing the game on the tablets at the campaign launch.
