The SIDM Star Wars Episode

No SIDM event would be complete without their signature crafts booths.

It was a pleasant coincidence for SIDM with its graduation falling on the same day as Star Wars Day – May 4! (May the fourth/force be with you, geddit?) And trust SIDM to make the most of it. To mark this joyous occasion, the SIDM Club’s executive committee and student leaders took the reins this year to set up a carnival. Held at Blk M, there was an array of booths and activities, all aligned to the galactic theme.

SIDM also did their bit for charity as proceeds from the sales of t-shirts and tote bags will be donated to the Singapore Children’s Society. A highlight of the carnival was the Star Wars gallery filled with artwork submitted for the 2018 Fan Art competition. The winners of the competition were selected, announced and awarded by Mr Amit Malhotra, country head of The Walt Disney Company Singapore and Malaysia. The new SIDM graduates were also in for a sweet treat, literally! They were presented with Star Wars cookies baked by their juniors and lecturers. (Thanks to our SCL colleagues too who guided the SIDM team around their kitchen.)

Our SIDM graduates took home these cute cookies!
