SDM Film Selected for UK Film Festival

Our SDM Animation students' film "Reconnection" has been selected for an upcoming international online film festival, "Lift-Off Sessions".
Hosted by Pinewood Studios based in the UK, Lift-Off Sessions is a monthly online showcase dedicated to screening a global collection of indie shorts and features.
The animation was produced by two teams of 12 students who spent six months on it, as part of their final-year project. Reconnection follows a lone astronaut, Joel, who arrives at the doorstep of a mysterious facility that reminds him of his old school. Things start to go awry, and he has to battle his past to escape this illusionary hell.
Shares SDM lecturer and supervisor of the film, Federico Fiore: "Reconnection was a particularly challenging animation to craft due to the complex themes of internal struggle and self-forgiveness. So we’re glad to see our students’ skills and dedication recognised at an international festival. This would motivate their peers and juniors.”
