Nanyang Polytechnic students just a (virtual) corridor from Finland's Kajaani University undergraduates
Published on 06 Nov 2017

Dear Media Friends,

Students at Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) and Finland's Kajaani University of Applied Sciences (Kajaani UAS) will soon be able to meet one another across the hallway – virtually. A round-the-clock video wall will be installed on the campuses of NYP and Kajaani UAS to facilitate real-time continuous collaboration across land and sea.

NYP has worked closely with Kajaani UAS since 2013. Through student exchanges, business and interactive & digital media students engage in meaningful cross-cultural exchange, and gain exposure to global business studies and innovation in game development.

NYP and Kajaani UAS will take their partnership up a notch with a real-time Interactive video wall connecting both campuses – one of the many new initiatives by the two institutions. The video wall will link NYP students and their international counterparts via a 24/7 live stream. To be situated in the SIDM Lab, the video wall will allow for easy and regular communication between students working on cross-campus projects.

We would like to invite your cameraman/photographer to join us at the launch of this interactive communication platform, witnessed by Her Excellency Paula Parviainen, the Ambassador of the Republic of Finland, and Dr Turo Kilpeläinen, President & CEO of Kajaani University of Applied Sciences. Visuals include 'live' interaction between the students of both campuses.
