Light to Night Festival 2021 - Art Skins on Monuments
School of Design & Media

About the project

The works of our Diploma in Motion Graphics Design (MGD) students were projected on the façade of the Victoria Theatre from 22 Jan - 31 Jan, 2021!

The School of Interactive & Digital Media (SIDM) worked with Artist Mentors from Lab B for the second time to create projection animation for the Light to Night Festival's Art Skins on Monuments.

Fifty-two Diploma in Motion Graphic & Design Year 2 students worked through a competition-based project collaboration with National Gallery Singapore during their semester.

The 3 artist mentors who guided the students to produce 60-second animations to be projected onto the Victoria Theatre are:

  • William Chan : Co-founder of PHUNK studio, Asia's leading Art & Design Collective and Founder of TMRRW
  • Brandon Tay: Singapore based artist working in the fields of mediated sculpture and the moving image
  • Safuan Johari : An artist who has established himself in the realms of electronic music, sound design and music production

Three teams have been selected to have their works projected onto the Victoria Theatre from 22 - 31 Jan, 2021 as part of Singapore's biggest facade light show -  Light to Night Festival 2021's Art Skins on Monuments
