Our graduates were awarded 24 awards at the recent Singapore Packaging Star Awards ceremony on 6 Oct 2021 for 2019 & 2020 awardees!
Singapore Packaging Star Awards is organised annually by the Packaging Council of Singapore. Our graduates' innovative and creative packaging design impressed the international judges from the packaging industry. Upon winning the national award, these entries are eligible for participating in the regional Asia Star Packaging Awards and the global World Star Packaging Awards.
Amongst our winners, Maimoonbi Marican Abdullah's work earned her the WorldStar Student Award - Sustainability Gold Trophy & Certificate of Merit along with the AsiaStar2019 & Singapore Packaging Star 2019 awards.
Her design makes use of discarded banana peels to form a cone to be used in take-away packaging.
This leather-like banana peel cone has fibres that are not only durable, but can easily and quickly degrade into the earth without causing harm to the environment.
Our students also won 6 WorldStar Student Awards Certificates of Recognitions, 7 AsiaStar Awards and 9 Singapore Packaging Star Awards.
