• Admission Requirements

    Applicants should have a recognised degree (preferably in the behavioural/human sciences or health-related disciplines).


    Details of the Advanced Diploma in Counselling course will be published in the local newspapers, as and when the course is offered.

    Organisations sponsoring their staff for the programme are required to submit the Company-Sponsorship Form to the above address by the closing date. 

    Please note that application will not be processed without the receipt of the supporting document by the Application Closing Date. Candidates without the Company Sponsorship form will be regarded as self-sponsored candidate.

    Only shortlisted applicants will be considered for an interview before they are confirmed a place in the course.

    Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their applications as soon as they are available.

  • Course Schedule

    Course Duration:

    490 hours over 18 months.

    Week 1 to 8 (Course):
    Mon, Wed & Thu - 6.30pm to 9.30pm

    Week 9 to 10(Mid-Semestral Break)

    Week 11 to 18 (Course):
    Mon, Wed & Thu - 6.30pm to 9.30pm

    Week 19 (Examination)

    Week 20 to 24 (Term Break)

    Course Schedule:

    PDC 1: Apr 18 - Aug 19

    PDC 2: Oct 18 - Mar 19

    PDC 3: Oct 18 - Jul 19

    Week 25 to 68 (Clinical Practice):
    Upon successful completion of the first 3 modules, participants will commence clinical practice. Participants are required to arrange for their practicum with a suitable centre at a mutually convenient time. Participants must complete 100 hours of face to face counselling before the end of the course. 10 hours of individual supervision will be scheduled by the participants with their respective clinical supervisors. An additional 20 hours of group supervision will be arranged by and conducted in NYP on Tuesday (6:30-9:30pm).

    Week 36 to 37 (Mid-Semestral Break)
