SCS IT Youth of the Year Award 2018 – Winner

At the Singapore Computer Society Gala Award Dinner held on 9 March 2018, SIT alumnus, Mr Liu Lung Hao won the prestigious IT Youth Award. Mr Aow Jia Rong and Mr Reagan Goh, also SIT alumni, were among the finalists for the award. This award is given to individuals, aged 25 and below, who have made outstanding personal contribution to infocomm and digital media. 

Lung Hao’s interest in IT started when he learnt to program a robot in primary school. He sustained the interest through his secondary school days and prior his ‘O’ Level Exams, he was offered a place in the Diploma in Information Technology course at Nanyang Polytechnic. While at Nanyang Polytechnic, he participated and did well in various competitions such as the SMU Innovate IT in 2014 and the Microsoft Imagine Cup 2015. Lung Hao also joined the Microsoft Student Partner Program (MSP) and had multiple internships with Microsoft Singapore. He was later appointed Singapore Programme Lead for Microsoft Student Partner in 2015, leading 65 MSPs to complete over 80 technical workshops and events, reaching out to 10,000 students across 12 Institutes of Higher Learning. 

Lung Hao is also the founder of Feezmodo Consulting. He began the company to take on freelance projects, when he was still in poly, in late 2013. Four years later, the company grew to have more than 15 industry partners. Lung Hao also won the Microsoft Singapore 2017 Technology for Good Recognition Award for his contributions in providing pro bono IT consultation and services to non-profit organisations. Freezmodo is now a leader in the hybrid cloud and cloud optimisation technology space, offering various solutions such as hybrid disaster recovery to accelerate digital transformation in small and medium enterprises.
