The Nanyang Polytechnic Chinese Orchestra (NYPCO) was formed in September 1996 with a pioneer batch of 45 members. Today, it boasts over 100 members from NYP's six schools, comprising both full-time students as well as alumni members who return regularly to practice and perform. The orchestra presents a vast selection of repertoire: from unique and modern spin on traditional Chinese music to new interpretations of western classical, mandopop, and even Korean pop. The orchestra competed at the 18th Australian International Music Festival in June 2007 and was awarded a Gold award in the instrumental category. The orchestra also clinched the Gold award in the 2011 Asia Pacific Chinese Music Youth Competition held in Miaoli, Taiwan, competing against 11 other teams from Malaysia, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Foreign Bodies is a street dance club founded in 1994 by a group of students who had a strong passion for dance. As of 2024, the club has has 23 generations of dancers and over 800 members. The versatile dancers are able to express their passion through a wide range of genres such as Hip Hop, Popping, Locking, Waacking, Dancehall, Breaking, House, Street Jazz including sub-genres such as Tutting, Girls Style, Swag and many more - both in freestyle and choreographed sets. Foreign Bodies is an independent, self-taught club with a huge and strong alumni base, actively performing for both NYP's and external events. These include NYP Spectrum Arts Festival and Open House. Its biennial production is a hugely successful showcase that both students and public look forward to.

The NYP Guitar Club (NYPGC) comprises over 50 members with varying levels of skills and experience. The club welcomes and encourages all new members interested in playing the guitar to join them. The NYP K-Wave Club is dedicated to letting students experience the different aspects of the current Korean wave phenomena through organizing different activities with the various sections of the club, namely K-Vox and K-Dance. With its name derived from the hexagonal shape of France, the NYP L’Hexagone French Club provides a platform to nurture and promote the French language and culture through fun and interactive activities related to food, sports, and music. Music evokes emotions and creates moods and ambience. The Live Audio Club combines music and audio equipment to create atmospheres that get everyone into the mood to enjoy the events. Since its establishment, the club has provided audio support for numerous schools and CCA events. The members are equipped with the expertise to set up and execute audio support not just for indoor but also outdoor events. This club is for music lovers and is an organization where disc jockeys (DJs) are groomed and trained. Currently, there are about 50 active members. They are given extensive training and practice to learn the skills and knowledge in handling and using the audio equipment such as mixers and speakers.

The NYP Malay Cultural Group (MCG) is all about celebrating, embracing and strengthening the traditions and teachings of the Malay culture. The group consists of over 60 members and the following sub-groups: Malay Dance, Dikir Barat and Malay Theatre. These groups represent both the traditional art forms and modern contemporary genres. Despite having three diverse sub-groups, MCG members unite as one to encourage one another to go further in their respective crafts and support each other in performances and routines. Sakuran Japanese Cultural Club (SJCC)’s name is a combination of two iconic flowers in Japan and Singapore - “Sakura” means cherry blossom and “Ran” means orchid. The club’s five divisions are Origami, Manga Anime Illustration Drawings (MAID), Japanese Music & Dance (JMD), Cosplay Anonymous and Film Addicts. SJCC aims to share their love and appreciation of the Japanese culture to everyone in NYP! The members cultivate an interest in Japanese culture and language and build up self-confidence to improve their communication skills with the Japanese community. Some examples include participating in events organized by the Japanese Association of Singapore, and hosting exchange programs with local and international Japanese high schools and universities. NYP Sketch Art Club allows students to express their creativity and self-expression through various forms of art creation. As the first polytechnic Symphony Orchestra in Singapore, the NYP Symphony Orchestra (NYPSO) has grown in stature and repertoire since its formation in 2002. Comprising wind, string and percussion ensembles, the Orchestra, together with strong support from its alumni members, has been on an incredible journey, and continues to grow from strength to strength. Members of the string ensemble explore and appreciate music created by stringed instruments of varying sizes, with most learning from scratch, under the tutelage of professional and alumni instructors. The percussion section experiments with various genres and styles of performing. Known for incorporating energetic and entertaining choreography into its routines, members often impress audience with their performances. The wind ensemble completes the trinity of the NYP Symphony Orchestra. In collaboration with Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), NYP CD Lionhearters Club was set up and launched in July 2013 with the mission of raising awareness in Emergency Preparedness, Civil Defence Skills and Fire Safety in NYP. Our Club members are trained by the SCDF in lifesaving skills such as First Aid, CPR and AED as well as fire safety measures and precautions such as proper use of fire extinguishers. The club also provides first aid service for campus events, and works closely with other SCDF Divisions in Singapore to organise SCDF-level projects. These include community and grassroots events such as Emergency Preparedness Day, where club members assist the SCDF in imparting its emergency preparedness knowledge and lifesaving skills to residents.

A combat sport which means “the way of kicking and punching”, Taekwondo is characterised by its emphasis on head-height kicks, jumping and spinning kicks and fast kicking techniques. Our members train in a competitive environment to improve their skills through rigorous sessions and friendly competitions. They are also encouraged to explore doubles as well as singles, to boost character development and teamwork. The team competes in the annual POL-ITE Games.

NYP Touch Football is an all-girls team that is disciplined and passionate. The training environment is designed to help every girl build confidence by mastering skills and techniques through hard work and resilience. The team competes annually in POL-ITE Games and set aims for IVP Games.

NYP Ultimate Frisbee is a mixed-gender sport that brings together members passionate about the sport. The team aims to use the sport to cultivate teamwork and foster strong bonds, discipline and mental toughness. As Ultimate Frisbee is a self-refereed sport, integrity and sportsmanship are key attributes for members to have. The team participates in competitions such as the POL-ITE and IVP Games.

Urban Strength promotes the fundamentals of back-to-basics strength and training philosophies, with the community at it's core. In addition, the club strives to make sessions modern and simplified to make trainings fun and meaningful. NYP Urban Strength focuses on fitness programmes that involve weight-bearing and body-weight exercises. From beginner to advanced level, we welcome everyone to join us, and see what your body can do with some training. Through these training sessions, we want members to develop a keen sense of the can-do spirit that NYP strives to inculcate in its learners.

NYP Volleyball consists of disciplined and committed members. The team trains weekly to work towards improving their skills and hone their court chemistry. The team is set to compete annually in POL-ITE Games and set aims to compete in IVP Games.

NYP Zhong Hua Wushu gathers members and like-minded individuals who have passion in learning and promoting Chinese Martial Arts. Zhong Hua Wushu is both an exhibition and contact Martial Art that originates from China: it can be executed with bare-hands or weapons such as the sword and spear. Besides training and competitions, members gain experiences through events and performances.

At club meetings, students learn more about Christ, the Catholic faith and its various teachings. Members meet to pray together and explore/expand their spiritual knowledge.
