The Diploma in Multimedia & Infocomm Technology grooms students to become successful Infocomm professionals in the high growth Infocomm and Media industries
Cloud computing, social media, mobile apps, big data analytics, Green ICT, and natural user interaction. The new digital era is changing the way we live, work, play and communicate. Infocomm technology (ICT) will continue to be a key driver of the global economy, creating endless possibilities and rewarding opportunities in all industry sectors, including finance, entertainment, hospitality, biomedical, life sciences, energy, communications, and many others. With the Intelligent Nation 2015 (iN2015) masterplan driving Singapore as a global city powered by Infocomm, the Singapore Media Fusion Plan (SMFP) propelling the Interactive and Digital Media (IDM) industry and the island-wide rollout of the Next Generation National Broadband Network (NGNBN), the future of Infocomm and Media careers look brighter than ever.
Students will work on state-of-the-art projects in an innovation-driven environment with industry leaders, such as Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, Agilent, Cisco Systems, Symantec, BT-Frontline and IBM, just to name a few. They will also gain valuable international exposure and experience through the Overseas Industrial Attachment and Overseas Immersion programmes.
To further boost their academic and professional standing, students have the opportunity to opt for additional modules under the Diploma Plus Programme. These modules further prepare students for university studies and enable them to gain additional university credit exemption, or further enhance students' technical capabilities by pursuing internationally recognised professional certifications issued by industry leaders, such as Cisco Systems, Microsoft, Zend and others.
Course Aims

The Diploma in Multimedia & Infocomm Technology, with its broad-based, multi-disciplinary curriculum, provides most up-to-date training for students to be part of a new generation of versatile Infocomm and media professionals for the new global workplace. The course also prepares them well for further studies.
In the first two years, students will acquire a wide spectrum of expertise in software development, interactive digital media, networking and IT services. They will also build up their skills in communications, creative thinking, innovation and entrepreneurship.
In the final year, students can choose one of four elective programmes according to their interests and career aspirations. These elective programmes are designed with alignment to the National Infocomm Competency Framework set out by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA).
