WSQ Specialist Diploma in Productivity Management (Manufacturing)
Introduction

In manufacturing operations, people, systems, processes and machines are needed to support production activities like machining, assembly, inspection, testing and packaging. Hence, there is a need for managers, supervisors and engineers to understand, improve and optimize the production activities as well as the processes and systems, in order to increase overall productivity of the manufacturing operations.
The WSQ Specialist Diploma in Productivity Management (Manufacturing) lets you do just that. It provides you with the knowledge and skills to apply productivity improvement techniques and systems, as well as to manage the change that it entails in your manufacturing environment. You will be trained to analyze and develop productivity improvement projects using continuous improvement methodologies with a focus on lean manufacturing principles. Course Structure
Manage Productivity, Measurement and Change
Learn about the productivity concept, its measurement at various levels, the relevant productivity metrics and ratios for your organization and the change management imperative to implement productivity initiatives.
Manage Productivity Improvement Techniques and Systems
Gain the skills needed to identify and select the appropriate tools, techniques or systems from Kaizen to Six Sigma that are relevant and useful to your organization or business environment in your productivity drive.
Manage Lean Manufacturing for Productivity Improvement
Learn about lean manufacturing principles and just-in-time tools and techniques such as waste elimination, lead time management, inventory control, Kanban, plant layout and total productive maintenance to achieve manufacturing productivity improvements.
Manage Advanced Manufacturing Technology
Learn about the latest advanced manufacturing technologies from rapid prototyping and factory automation to enterprise resource planning software that are available and are critical for successful technology and equipment deployments that support productivity improvement initiatives in the manufacturing and precision engineering industries.
Manage Productivity Improvement Project
Learn about the key phases in project management that would enable you to achieve successful implementations of productivity improvement projects in your organization. Participants are expected to complete a productivity improvement project in their organization.
Admission Requirements
You are welcome to apply if you have at least a NITEC qualification in the Science and Technology disciplines, a WSQ Diploma or a Polytechnic Diploma would be preferred.
This course is suitable for those who are currently employed or wish to be employed in the manufacturing and precision engineering industries and whose present job scope or working experience includes line management or supervision, industrial or process engineering and related fields in the manufacturing and precision engineering industries.
Delivery and Assessment
The course consists of lectures, case studies, group discussions, projects, hands-on labs and workshops. You will be awarded a Statement of Attainment (SOA) for the completion of each module. When you have obtained all 5 SOAs related to the WSQ Specialist Diploma in Productivity Management (Manufacturing), you will be issued your full qualification.
Course Fees
Singapore citizens and Singapore PRs (after WDA funding):
Modules 1 to 3 : $450 (excl GST) per module
Modules 4 and 5 : $600 (excl GST) per module
Total for 5 modules = $2,550 (excl GST)
