Keep Calm and Carry On

Eljer Chua and Clarence Lim - Mechatronics

One of the most important things Mechatronics Engineering graduates Eljer Chua and Clarence Lim have learnt during their WorldSkills training is how to keep calm during competitions.

The duo from will be representing Singapore later this year in the WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017 competition. Other than learning mechanical assembly, programming and troubleshooting skills, they’ve also undergone peak performance training sessions to teach them how to react when something goes wrong.

Says Eljer: “We’ve come to realise the importance of staying calm and composed during the actual competition. We were taught how to focus thoroughly on solving the problem instead of being panicky. I believe these skills will also benefit us when we start our working lives.”
