Impressing Youths through IDMday

Hundreds of students joined SIDM for an exciting day of workshops, talks and fun activities.

It was a rousing Oct 25 at Block M as more than 360 secondary school students and their teachers took part in IDMday - SIDM's annual outreach event. The day started with a sharing by two SIDM alumni who have gone on to set up their own companies. They spoke about the benefits of studying in SIDM and the transition between student and professional life. After the inspiring session, students tried some hands-on activities at the workshops conducted by the six different SIDM diplomas.

They heard first hand from SIDM students and lecturers on what they can expect in NYP.

Their free time was then spent at the Fun Fair where they played games, made their own shrinky dinks - pieces of flexible sheets that shrink to small, hard pieces of art when heated - and had a free-flow of popcorn and cotton candy. They also got exclusive access to the latest SIDM games: ShipWrecked (VR), Project Souls and NYPGo! Check out this link for more pictures of IDMday!

The excitement carried on throughout the evening at the first ever SIDM Art Market. The event was a great opportunity for staff, students and alumni to come together to celebrate NYP's 25th anniversary. How? The number 25 was cleverly woven into the event, from the artwork to the prices to the number of booths. Yes, 25 booths! Some of these where helmed by SIDM alumni. Those who came were definitely spoiled for choices from the array of trinkets and crafts available for purchase on display. Head on here for more pictures of the Art Market!
