Learning IT on a Bus

The IMDA (Infocomm Media Development Authority) Lab on Wheels rolled into the NYP campus in June. It offered our students a new way of approaching Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cyber Security to prepare them as future-ready digital citizens.
Our Common Infocomm Technology (ICT) Programme, Polytechnic Foundation Programme and Year 1 School of Information Technology (SIT) students, had the chance to experience the action in the IMDA Lab on Wheels’ escape room-themed bus.
Using AI tools such as Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Natural Language Processing, students had to complete a series of tasks to prevent a villainous AI from wreaking havoc on the Internet. In the Cyber Security bus, students were required to set up strong passwords and enable encryption while avoiding falling victim to phishing and ransomware.
