Huge Win in Energy Challenge

Students from the School of Engineering once again proved they can be (really) good at problem-solving. For the third consecutive year, our NYP teams emerged as the Grand Champion in the annual Sembcorp-EMA Energy Challenge (SEEC). The challenge? They had to play a strategy-based computer simulation game, “Power Quest”, and build a power ecosystem while maintaining profitability, reliability and environmental sustainability.

Jointly organised by Sembcorp and Energy Market Authority, the challenge aims to inspire engineering students to pursue careers in the power and energy sectors. They beat 27 other teams from other Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL) and walked away with a total cash prize of $2,200 and internship opportunities.
