We witnessed a new milestone for the National Workplace Learning Certification. Minister for Education Mr Chan Chun Sing presented the certification award to nine companies on 26 Apr.

Developed by the National Centre of Excellence for Workplace Learning (NACE) led by NYP and supported by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), the certification framework was launched back in May last year.  It helps companies identify and close gaps in their workplace learning processes and capabilities, so they can better do employee development.

Three companies reached the highest level and they were awarded the Workplace Learning Organisation of Excellence (Platinum). The remaining awards were for the Workplace Learning Organisation of Competence spread across gold, silver and basic levels.

During the inaugural Workplace Learning Conference, Mr Chan pointed out that NACE, led by NYP, has done much to strengthen worker training. He says: “In a short span of four years, NACE has helped about 1,500 local companies implement structured training programmes and develop a stronger learning culture.”
