One of Edwin Chua’s most memorable experiences in the cybersecurity space was organising a boot camp (Youth Cyber Exploration Programme 2021) where he interacted with secondary school students, and inspired them to pursue cybersecurity in tertiary education. He also introduced them to basic cybersecurity concepts like Python programming, penetration testing, cryptography.

Edwin is the Vice President of both SIT InfoSec Club and SIT Club. He is also a Tech Leader with the NYP Google Developer Student Club.

For his efforts, the 2nd year student from the Diploma in Cybersecurity & Digital Forensics received the gold award at the Cybersecurity Student Volunteer and Recognition Programme (SVRP) awards ceremony on 19 Jan. Organised by the Association of Information Security Professionals (AISP) and the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA), the awards recognise students who have made large contributions to the cybersecurity space - such as supporting events and demonstrating leadership - on top of their studies and additional responsibilities.

Edwin wants to join the Cyber NSF Scheme by MINDEF for full-time national servicemen. Under this scheme, they are trained to deal with cyber threats and engage in cyber operations. He also hopes to pursue a degree related to cybersecurity.
