Experience the Best of NYP's Courses at Early Admissions Exercise 2023

Singapore, 17 May 2023 – Nanyang Polytechnic’s Early Admissions Exercise (EAE) Festival is back. In its third edition, the Festival features a myriad of exciting activities, including interactive discussions, seminars, and tours – available in both online and in-person formats – to help students and their parents navigate the Polytechnic EAE [1] process.
Principal & CEO of Nanyang Polytechnic, Russell Chan, says: “We are delighted to introduce this year's EAE Festival, featuring a dynamic hybrid format that offers prospective students and parents the freedom to select activities and modes of interaction tailored to their individual preferences. Through the array of activities, we hope to equip them with a holistic understanding of NYP’s innovative teaching and learning model and provide valuable insights and tips to ace their EAE application.”
Some of this year’s highlights include:
● Parents' Seminar – Led by NYP’s Deputy Principal & Director (School of Business Management), Esther Ho, this in-person seminar offers parents and students an exclusive opportunity to learn about the advantages of EAE, the hands-on curriculum at NYP, and why NYP is the ideal choice for students’ further education.
● Prep Workshops – Choose from workshops that offer valuable guidance on crafting the perfect 600-character write-up, skills to ace your interview, or how to prepare a standout portfolio.
● Meet the Schools:
○ Choose your NYP Experience – These on-campus tours allow parents and students to learn all about our curriculum, culture and state-of-the-art learning facilities. Visitors can also speak to lecturers and NYP students to get all their queries answered.
○ E-Meet Our Schools – Individuals unable to join us on-campus can join the online sessions, where schools will showcase their courses and shed light on what they look for in EAE applicants during interviews.
For some students, the EAE was their stepping stone to furthering their passions and desired course. This was the case for Jasmine Paula Mago Edanga, from NYP’s School of Design & Media. The Year Three student shared that “the EAE programme was the perfect fit for me as it allowed me to showcase my skills and potential in the course, something that would not have been possible with the Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) that focuses solely on grades.” Through the EAE, she managed to get a coveted seat in the Diploma in Animation & Visual Effects.
"The EAE programme provided me with the opportunity to pursue my passion and chart a course for my future," said Mendel Tan, also a Year Three student in NYP’s School of Business Management (SBM). The Diploma in Accountancy & Finance student added "I am grateful to Nanyang Polytechnic for believing in my potential. Without the EAE, I might have been adrift in my career choices, but now I can confidently pursue my dreams in the field of accountancy."

[1] Introduced in 2016, the EAE is an aptitude-based admission exercise. Instead of grades, admission is at the discretion of the polytechnics when applicants demonstrate aptitude and passion for the subject. Participation in CCAs, Advanced Elective Modules (AEMs), Applied Learning Modules (ApLMs), Applied Learning Programmes (ALPs), workshops or work attachments can all be considered as merit and evidence of interest. Once offered, the student need to only score the minimum requirements at the O Levels.
