Direct Admissions Exercise (DAE)

AY 2024/25 (Full Time Diploma Courses)

Am I eligible to apply?

You may apply for your desired Full Time Diploma Course via the Direct Admissions Exercise (DAE) if you are holding one of the international academic qualifications and have met the minimum entry requirements (MER).

 

Eligibility Criteria
  1. Returning Singapore Citizen (SC) / Singapore Permanent Resident (PR) who have completed at least Year 10 of High School education not listed below may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  2. Result slip or academic transcript for qualifications printed in a language other than English must be accompanied by a certified English translated copy.
  3. Your application will be considered on a case-by-case basis if your national exams have been cancelled or deferred.
    • You may be required to submit proof that you have registered for the national exams after submitting your application online. 
  4. You may be required to sit for the Entrance Test and/or go through an interview if you are shortlisted. 
  5. You need to prepare a digital portfolio if you are applying for courses under School of Design & Media.
  6. Meeting the MER is not a guarantee that you will be shortlisted. Shortlisting is based on merit and course availability in the year of application.

 

English Proficiency Requirement
  1. You are required to either submit valid IELTS or TOEFL results OR sit for the poly-administered English Entrance Test.
  2. You will be exempted if you are applying using one of the following qualifications:
    • Brunei’s General Certificate of Education - Ordinary Levels
    • IGCSE (English as first language)
    • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma
    • Malaysia's SPM/UEC
    • Year 12 English Language subject with minimum scores of 70% from native English-speaking countries (USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand)
  3. IELTS / IELTS Indicator / IELTS One Skill Retake Criteria:
    • Minimum overall score of 6.0, with minimum score of 6.0 each for all individual assessment components of Listening, Reading, Writing & Speaking
  4. TOEFL (iBT) / TOEFL iBT ® Special Home Edition Criteria:
    • Minimum score of 78

 

Entrance Test
  1. If shortlisted, you will be invited to sit for an online English / Mathematics / Science Entrance Test (where applicable), to be held in February (subject to changes).
  2. You will be exempted if you are applying using one of the following qualifications:
    • Brunei’s General Certificate of Education - Ordinary Levels
    • IGCSE (English as first language)
    • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma
    • Malaysia's SPM/UEC
  3. Please note that an Entrance Test fee is payable for each paper. Refer to DAE Entrance Test Information for details.

Additional aptitude test and/or interview (non-payable) will be conducted for selected courses:

  • aptitude test / interview for courses offered by the School of Design & Media
  • interview for Mass Media Management and Sport & Wellness Management courses offered by the School of Business Management
  • manual dexterity test for Oral Health Therapy course offered by the School of Health & Social Sciences

Application Procedure 

  1. Your application must be submitted via the online application system during the application period stipulated above. 
  2. After submitting the online application, you will need to upload the following via our Document Submission System within 3 working days from the date of your application submission (refer to the instructions in the Online Application System):
    • identification document (front & back if applicable) or passport 
    • original result slip or academic transcript (accompanied by a certified English translated copy if original is in another language)
    • registration slip for national exams (if applying using school-based results)
    • IELTS / TOEFL (iBT) results (if applicable)
    • digital portfolio (if applying for courses offered by School of Design & Media)
    • Company Sponsorship Form (if applicable)
  3. Please ensure your name / identification number is clearly shown in all the documents submitted.

Notification of Outcome

Application outcome will be released by end March/April. You may login to the online application system listed above to check your application status.
