About this course

Course objectives

The focus of community health nursing is to optimise the health of individuals, families and the community. Students of the Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Community Health) will be equipped with specialised knowledge and clinical skills to provide nursing leadership in the delivery of comprehensive healthcare for the community.

Course description

The Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Community Health) course will be offered full-time over 33 weeks. Total curriculum is 860 hours comprising 420 hours of academic studies and 440 of clinical practice. The following PDCs are covered under this programme:

1. Post-Diploma Certificate in Principles and Science of Community Health Nursing (210 hrs)

2. Post-Diploma Certificate in Practice of Community Health Nursing 1(120 hrs)

3. Post-Diploma Certificate in Advanced Concepts in Community Health Nursing (210 hrs)

4. Post-Diploma Certificate in Practice of Community Health Nursing 2 (320 hrs)
