Graduation Day

 

Attire / Dress Code

  • Graduands attending the graduation ceremonies must wear the official NYP Graduation Attire. Graduands who are not wearing the NYP Graduation Attire or are inappropriately attired will not be allowed on stage.
  • Full-Time National Servicemen (NSFs) are required to don the recommended graduation attire. Wearing the NYP Graduation Attire over the NS uniform is not allowed.
  • The NYP Graduation Attire consists of a one-piece robe with a detachable collar flap, as shown below. You can get more details on the purchase, rental and collection of the NYP Graduation Attire at the gown vendor’s website www.beauvoix.com.sg
  • Graduates from a Diploma course (full-time / part-time) will wear the red and yellow detachable collar flap.
  • Purchase or rental of the graduation attire will NOT be available on campus during graduation period.
  • Refer to Rental of Gown for instructions on ordering your graduation attire.

 

 

Female Graduands

 

Recommended attire:

  • Dress/Blouse, preferably long sleeve, with high collar. Skirt length should be around knees or longer.
  • Dress pants are permitted.
  • Court shoes or pumps.
  • Neat hairdo / natural tone.

Unacceptable attire:

  • Casual pants/jeans, t-shirts, polo shirts, shorts, culottes, bermudas, sports shoes, sneakers, slippers, sandals.
  • Mini-skirts/skirts with exceptionally high slits. Any dress considered provocative or revealing e.g. low cut, bare midriff, transparent top, blouse unbuttoned.

Male Graduands

 

Recommended attire:

  • Long-sleeve shirt with tie and dark coloured pants. Dark coloured formal shoes with socks.
  • Short neat hairdo / natural tone. 
  • Hair should be above shirt collar.
  • Tying of hair is not acceptable.

Unacceptable attire:

  • Casual pants/jeans, t-shirts, polo shirts, shorts, culottes, bermudas, sports shoes, sneakers, slippers, sandals.
