Wheelchair Rider Transfer System
The team designed and constructed a retractable wheel module that can be easily retrofitted onto any existing wheelchair. Users can roll the wheel back, creating comfortable space for them to move out from the wheelchair to another place. This system eliminates the obstruction (the large wheel) often encountered when a user needs to be positioned from the wheelchair to another place.
