APPRECIATE AND VALUE THE DAYS IN SCHOOL

Was NYP your first choice?

NYP was my first choice since the School of Design was offering the course on Spatial Design. I have no regrets studying the chosen course in NYP as I made good friends, bonded well with my peers and formed friendships with my lecturers besides gaining knowledge from them. The best thing about NYP was that when I woke up in the mornings, I looked forward to going to school, attending classes and meeting up with friends.

What was your takeway from NYP?

Having taken a course in Spatial Design, it opened my mind to see things in a different way. I have learnt a lot of things which I wasn't able to understand at first. That was my challenge. In the earlier years, I failed to understand the concepts. But as time passed, with the encouragement from my friends and lecturers, I realised how easy it was to make sense of the subjects.

What were some of your favourite memories in NYP?

During project submission weeks, it was always chaotic. We were rather stressed but the best part was that my friends and I always shared our problems, talked about our projects, found solutions, laughed together, and did fun and crazy things together. Our lecturers were amazing and fun to be with too. I will not trade those years of hard work with anything else. Through perseverence and hardwork, I graduated from my course with much pride and joy. I really miss those days in NYP!”

What would you like to say to your juniors?

My advice to juniors is that, always appreciate and value the days in NYP because once you graduate, you will miss poly life.
