Diploma in Multimedia & Infocomm Technology

School of Engineering

NOT MY FIRST CHOICE COURSE BUT I HAVE NO REGRETS!

After graduating from Telok Kurau Secondary School,  I had set my goal to enrol into the Game Design course at NYP. Eventually, I took up the Multimedia & Infocomm Technology (MIT) course instead. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I've ever made.

The MIT course exposed me to the fundamentals of many types of platforms during the first two years and allowed me to choose one that I had wanted to focus on in the last year. Only when I entered the workforce did I realise that some of the basics I learned in year 1 actually helped me understand the technical terms better at work! I'm currently working as a Digital Media Specialist in Apex Production.

I joined the NYP Symphony Orchestra during my poly days in NYP. I treasured those moments spent with my peers and instructor. If not for the Orchestra, I would not have had the chance to join competitions and travel to Vienna and Holland. And most importantly, I would not have met my wife. I hope the juniors will participate and volunteer more in school events. Not only do campus activities help them with their social skills, but they also widen their circle of friends. These often become lifelong friendships.
