Artificial intelligence, or AI, is all around us. When you unlock your smartphone with facial recognition, the AI matches the 3D image via 30,000 invisible infrared dots hitting the contours of your face. Netflix always has an exciting line-up of shows to keep you glued for hours — and that’s because the AI has learned your watching habits and makes the correct recommendations.

So, what is AI?

The applications may seem mind-boggling, but essentially, AI is a technology that mimics human intelligence when performing tasks, including solving problems and making decisions. Simply put, with AI, machines can act and think like one of us.

The possibilities of AI are endless – from machines that can automate and optimise processes to systems that help businesses make better decisions. Sounds intriguing?
