Within each interdisciplinary Competency Unit, skills and knowledge from different disciplines are integrated and taught holistically. This enables the students to fulfil specific work-tasks upon completion. Completing the Competency Units will also equip our students with six Course Competencies.

Where skills and knowledge learnt are assessed for competency, together with a Work-Integration-Unit (WIU) which is a workplace contextualised project. You have to complete all five to graduate.

University Pathway Programme

Fast-track your university journey with our pathway to the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Gain credit exemptions when you complete up to three (3) university modules in your final year, under NUS College of Design & Engineering or NTU School of Biological Sciences. You can acquire the following degrees in under four years:

Internships

We have established partnerships with companies such as Pfizer, GSK and Dow Chemicals to offer structured internship programs, where each student is assigned an industry mentor. These programmes align closely with the curriculum and provide students with hands-on experience in a real-world manufacturing or laboratory environment.

With the help of scientists at A*STAR Skin Research Labs, Claribel Chew Yu Nin, built a bile acid library with relentless experimentation and meticulous recording of her data and progress. Her findings were instrumental to the lab’s ongoing research project!

No idea is too trivial

When Kumaravel Padma Roopa saw that her colleagues were losing productivity by spending excessive time looking for equipment in the store, she designed and built a simple inventory management system using Excel Visual Basic, as well as re-organised the store using the 5S methodology. Using the system, they could now find out the availability and location of the equipment with ease!

No system is too complex

Inspection and maintenance of piping in chemical plants are critical in ensuring safe operation of the facility. De Leon Lainus Miguel Aquiatan completed the preparation of corrosion monitoring locations for more than one hundred different piping systems. This was made possible with skills that were taught to him – Piping & Instrumentation diagrams interpretation, risk and failure mode analysis and the can-do spirit!
