This year has proved the resilience and innovative spirit of many Singaporeans. True Digital Park, Southeast Asia's largest tech and startup hub located in the heart of Bangkok CyberTech District, organised a 24hr Virtual Hackathon for Ricoh (Thailand) and Mitsubishi Electric (Thailand) held on 25 and 26 June 2020. Our students were up for the challenge! The competition required our learners to brainstorm innovative ideas to help international brands resolve their business challenges. 65 SBM students participated in this event and 5 teams emerged eventual winners. One SBM team impressed the judges and clinched the 1st prize and two SBM teams clinched 2nd prize and 3^rd prize in their respective categories.

These winners will make a sponsored trip to Bangkok, to co-develop their ideas with Ricoh (Thailand) and True Digital Park (Thailand) when the Covid-19 situation improves. A special mention to our students, as Ricoh (Thailand) was so impressed with our students’ ideas, they decided to reward the winning team with a cash bonus of SGD1,000, the 1st runner up team with a cash bonus of SGD600 and the 2nd runner up teams with a cash bonus of SGD200 each. These cash bonuses were a last minute add on and a pleasant surprise to our students.
