The Financial Planning Association of Singapore (FPAS) organized an industry-wide financial planning competition in August this year. This award recognizes financial planners in Singapore for their financial planning excellence in the Banking, Insurance and Financial Advisory (FA) sectors.

The NYP team of 6 students from the Diploma in Banking & Finance were announced the winners on 21 August 2020 for this year's FPAS 2020. FPAS celebrates excellence in professional knowledge & exceptional financial planning skills. Our NYP team faced stiff competition from fellow students in Ngee Ann Polytechnic School of Business and Accountancy and Singapore Polytechnic School of Business. As these students vied for this recognition, the NYP team delivered an excellent performance that led them to victory.

Their achievement was made particularly special as Jerry Yeo, an alumni from Diploma in Banking & Finance, helped with the mentoring of our NYP student teams in this competition. For his mentoring efforts as an external member of NYP and a current practicing professional, he was awarded the ‘Best Mentor’ Award by FPAS. Jerry was also a past recipient of the ‘Open Category’ of the FPAS Financial Planners Awards 2019. It is through heart-warming mentorships like this that motivate and inspire our students to excellence!
