About the Course

The Specialist Diploma in Robotics and Automation Systems Design aims to train and develop specialist manpower with the relevant know-how and expertise to enhance their career opportunities in the Robotics and Automation sector. This course is designed to broaden and deepen the skills and knowledge acquired in polytechnic and further prepare participants to meet the current and future requirements of the Robotics and Automation Industry.

Through consultation with industry, the Specialist Diploma in Robotics and Automation Systems Design is designed to equip students with advanced hands-on skillsets in the field of systems design, robotics and simulation, machine controls and communications, automation systems, automated machine design and the integration of robots with automation systems. Data analytics, artificial intelligence, and industrial internet of things are also introduced in the context of robotics and automation.

The proposed 300-hour Specialist Diploma in Robotics and Automation Systems Design is modularised into 2 Post-Diploma Certificates (PDCs).  Each PDC is a 150-hour programme.

  • Post-Diploma Certificate in Robotics & Automation Systems
  • Post-Diploma Certificate in Automated Machine Design

Participants who meet the assessment and attendance requirements of the two PDCs will be awarded the Specialist Diploma in Robotics and Automation Systems Design.
