POL-ITE Tennis 2017

NYP Tennis team competed in the recent POL-ITE Tennis competition hosted by Republic Polytechnic from the 30th October to the 23rd November 2017. The competition hosted strong teams from all 6 institutions. Prior to the tournament, our Men’s team were the reigning champions from the 2016 edition while the Women’s team were 5th.
We are pleased to announce that the NYP Men’s team retained the Championship trophy on the last day of competition while the Women’s team clinched a 3rd place finish with a very strong performance. As NYP and NP were tied for 1st place, the winner was decided based on number of games won/loss, which gave NYP the edge over NP. I am extremely proud of the manner in which the players carried themselves throughout the competition as they demonstrated qualities of resilience, respect and teamwork especially when faced with stiff competition.
