Clarice Kang Yun Qi

Diploma in Business Management

By her own admission, Clarice used to struggle with low self-confidence and managing extreme stress.

She chose Nanyang Polytechnic precisely because she was won over by NYP’s embracing vibe. She was confident that she would thrive in a nurturing and caring environment. She says that she wanted to learn in a place that she felt comfortable in, and NYP felt like home to her. The “warm fuzzy feelings” have not changed throughout her journey here.

Clarice soared. Previously introverted and shy, she has now learnt to lead meaningful conversations with friends, peers and lecturers. She gained confidence to express herself.

The process was slow, but she had the support of friends and family. As an NYP scholar, Clarice was also involved in community service projects. She especially remembers a two-day programme to help underprivileged children gain their self-confidence – it was very meaningful to her as she knows what it is like to be in that position.

Clarice graduates with a GPA of 3.97, and a solid repertoire of leadership and interpersonal skills under her belt.

She has been offered a place in the National University of Singapore to read Business Administration and intends to develop her skillset in human resource management. My next challenge? I’ve been accepted into architecture at university.
